I here this so often, my photographer gave me the disc but I do not know what to do with it, personally I am not a big fan of this type of photography service the work is only half finished besides it does nothing for the photography that you spent good money on then I hand over the DVD to have someone layout the album spreads who have no idea how I shoot to tell the story of a wedding day, or worse still use a on-line book company just load the images up to the site and press auto load job done, not so.
Again I would like to point out when I am shooting a wedding I am taken certain photographs and designing the layouts of the wedding album pages in my head as I shoot. I have been told of photographers taking 3000 images what a editing nightmare that must be, and what do you do with 3000 images or is it a case of taken 3000 photographs and hopefully getting 80-100 good shots that make it to the album.
Back to the album, when you see the images printed on the finest Fuji Crystal photographic paper it gives depth to images meaning they jump off the pages and the true colours you get too are fantastic 100 times better than viewing on a computer screen or large TV. For one thing most computer screens are not properly colour corrected they can look really bad.
It is true photographs you get with the books then the prints are flushmounted and bound and finished in leather or leather hyde. You have a finished product that you can show for years to come not a DVD that may not work in 5 years time. I always tell my clients who purchase the DVD to back it up , we do not know how long the DVD will be readable for so keep backing it up.
So do yourself a favor get album it will cost more but at least you have a finished beautiful wedding album to have for many years to come, I am sure you get a kick out of seeing your parents wedding album now that you are about to get married. And you do not have to worry about backing up your DVD or is your hard drive going to crash one day.
