  • Hello and welcome to Today’s Faces Photography Blog

Hi Colin here, thank you for stopping by Today's Faces blog.
I have been full time in the Photography business for over 20 years yikes! that's a long time. I do not know how many weddings, portraits, business portraits, fireman calenders, bill boards, also all the wedding albums, wall portraits that are in peoples homes.
But I would say it has, and still is great to be full time in the photography business.
Although the photography industry has change over the years I would say it is a little easier to capture a well exposed clear image but it still takes years to train your eye to know what makes a great strong image than just a snap shot.
It is on this note that the 20 years of experience that I have been a photographer has made me develop a style that my clients enjoy.
Anyway, enough on me I hope you will enjoy the blog, and drop buy often as I am going to try and keep it up to date.

And a big thank you to all my past and present clients

    Regards Colin.

Burlington Beach Engagement Session

I was asked  by a good friend of there’s as a gift, to photograph Samantha and Troy for a engagement portrait , to display for there guest to sign at the wedding reception .

I shot the session one evening back in March when we had all that crazy warm weather it was a beautiful night light was just right.

Samantha lives right down on the Burlington beach front so we did not have far to go for a good location. I love this location only problem with it is, I can not understand

why in the world they built those ugly Hydro towers and wires that run right along such a beautiful beach front. I do not know what they were thinking at the time. Man they are ugly .

After the beach we move to the Burlington water front and photographed at Spencer’s At The Waterfront  restaurant then on to the art gallery.

It took me a little while to get Samantha and Troy to relax a bit and start having fun with there shoot, they did great though most clients take a little while to work with to get them to relax.

All the best on your wedding day, hope the weather is great  for you and your guest at the Leander Boat Club in Hamilton.

Below is a taste of what we did.

Have fun and have a great wedding.

Engagement session of Rachel and Gary Dundas Ontario

I had the pleasure of photographing Rachel and Gary’s  engagement portraits back in early April. They booked me through the Hamilton Halton Wedding Show that we had a booth at this year.

I took them to this old mill in the Dundas area that I like to use it has lots of  different  looks and locations as you can see from the shots. all within walking distance great place.

I have also posted there custom  collage portrait they are sized at 16 x 20 print I put together for them from the shoot this is very popular with my clients.

Gary and Rachel are getting married in Niagara Falls Canada on April 20th this year, and I am looking forward to that, will be posting a selection of shots from that day too.

Good job guys it takes team work.

The Red Green Show, photographs from the 1990’s shows, shot by Today’s Faces Photography

Hi all, I just came across these photographs taken back in the 1990’s of what I think must have been some of the first shows of the Red Green Show.

It was filmed right in Hamilton Ontario at the CHCH TV studios. Today’s Faces was hired to shoot on set and on location.

It was a lot of fun and laughs, as you can well imagine.  Also it was challenge. For all you photography buffs we had know digital cameras that shot 2000 ISO that got great  clear images from. We had to use tungsten film balanced for the studio lights and its ISO was 320, shot with a Hasselblad from a tripod at, I can still remember 1/15s at f4. Telling the cast do not move or you will be a blur, as we could not use flash. The other choice was use 400iso daylight film with correction filter on lens, but then you lost a stop by using the filter so you were no better off.

OH my! How Photography has change.

It was great that S and S Productions hired a local Hamilton photographer and we were pretty new in the photography business, to put their trust in us to photograph the show for their advertising.

Thank you Red Green, it was a honor to be involved with the early days of the show, and a great time too.
